Your 2024 Roadmap: Using ‘Stop, Start, Continue to Shape Your Journey

by | Jan 7, 2024 | January 2024

As we kickstart 2024, there’s only one word that comes to my mind – RESET. After a rollercoaster ride of 2023, resilience has been my constant companion. It has helped me accept the unexpected turns of events, learn from them, and move forward with full force. I hope you all have had a chance to reflect on your journey and learned from it as well. Here are a few things that I’ve learned along the way:

First, be your own advocate. While having a supportive inner circle is fantastic, it is essential to have that same energy for yourself. Speak up for yourself and be assertive to empower yourself and own your narrative.

Second, know your worth. It is vital to increase your self-awareness and take an honest look at your abilities. This will position you to take charge of your life and live it to the fullest.

Lastly, plan for change. Having a backup plan can be an excellent way to deal with uncertainty. Diversify your skills and interests so you can adapt to changes that come your way.

RESET is my theme for 2024, and I’ve found that the STOP, START, CONTINUE framework is an effective way to reset and move forward. I’ve shared this framework with clients who’ve found it helpful in crafting their personal and professional goals. Grab a notebook and follow these simple steps:

Create three columns labeled Stop, Start, and Continue. In the Stop column, list down things that you need to stop doing or behaviors that are getting in your way. In the Start column, list down new behaviors that you need to adopt to help you achieve your goals in 2024. In the Continue column, list down your strengths that you want to continue leveraging.

Be honest with yourself and reflect on each column to come up with 3-5 things for each. Take the time to answer the following questions:

  • How do you feel about your framework?
  • Were there any surprises?
  • How can this information help you make 2024 your best year?
  • What are your next steps?

If you found this exercise helpful and need support in crafting your 2024 personal or professional goals, I am here to help. As a personal and executive coach, I partner with individuals to help them develop their goals. Here’s a link to schedule a complimentary call. Let’s take this opportunity to collaborate and make 2024 our best year yet!
